Expression of Interest : Landscaping Research – Supply Chain Finance
FSD Africa (FSDA) and TradeMark East Africa (TMEA) are intending to collaborate to carry out landscaping research on supply chain finance markets in East Africa and Ethiopia and wish to appoint a consultancy firm to carry out this work. The research will focus on access to finance in selected, export- and import-oriented supply chains.
FSDA is a non-profit company which aims to increase prosperity, create jobs and reduce poverty by bringing about a transformation in financial markets in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) and in the economies they serve. It provides know-how and capital to champions of change whose ideas, influence and actions will make finance more useful to African businesses and households.
TMEA is an East African multi-donor funded, not-for-profit organisation, established in 2010 to promote trade and prosperity in East Africa. TMEA combines a regional approach with national-level interventions (through its country network of offices) and works closely with East Africa institutions, national governments, and private sector and civil society organisations.
The research will determine the existing supply and demand for trade finance solutions and primary constraints that inhibit access to and supply of finance. It will focus on three vertical markets – textile manufacturing, construction and aquaculture. Full details on the scope of the research can be obtained from here.
