Recruiter: Financial Sector Deepening Uganda
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Board of Directors
Financial Sector Deepening Uganda (FSDU) is an independent, not-for-profit company whose objective is to improve the livelihoods of Uganda’s low-income households through an inclusive financial sector. Backed by the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID) and other philanthropic donors, FSDU uses a “making markets work for the poor” (M4P) development approach, which seeks to change market systems so they work more effectively for the poor. The organisation is entering a new phase and is looking for a new Executive Director to lead it to deliver on an ambitious agenda.
The successful candidate will bring significant organisational leadership and management experience coupled with an in-depth understanding of the regional financial landscape. They must demonstrate a clear understanding of trends in digital finance and financial inclusion. Articulate and passionate about the market systems approach, they will be a credible influencer and architect of strategic collaboration between private sector, development and government stakeholders. They will be fluent in English and bring prior experience of working in Africa.
